RAF Akrotiri Flying Club was started in the early 1990s to offer flying at the cheapest possible rate to British Forces personnel, MOD Civil Servants, and their families. A small number of memberships are allowed from non-military or non-MOD Civil Servant (or dependants). The club owns a 2 seater C152 and a 4 seater C172. The club offers EASA PPL training, night qualification and hour building and the club is ELCAS registered. Trial flights can be offered for those thinking of doing a PPL, but pleasure flights are not allowed. As Akrotiri is a military airfield it cannot accept civilian aircraft without HQ British Forces Cyprus approval, and will not offer fuel to non-military aircraft.
